During more than past one year, the world and Vietnam have been fighting against the Covid 19 pandemic. The epidemic has greatly affected to the economy in general and the textile and garment industry in particular, including Thanh Cong Textile and Garment Company.
In the past year, in order to join hands together with the whole country to prevent and fight the Covid epidemic, Thanh Cong Company also took practical actions, quickly producing anti-bacterial fabrics, masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to both ensure jobs and stable income for employees and contribute to protecting community health. Responding to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Vietnam Red Cross on supporting the Covid-19 epidemic prevention, the Company also donated 300 million VND collected from leaders and employees to support the implementation of social work, foster for front-line doctors in the epidemic prevention work, partially support the displaced people and lose their jobs caused by the Covid 19 epidemic.
In the early days of 2021, when the Covid-19 epidemic continued to break out again, the whole society was striving to gather all resources to both prevent the epidemic and ensure the stability of people’s lives, socio-economic development, successfully implementing the dual goals of the Government. In parallel with efforts to promote research and production of vaccines in the country, Vietnam also negotiates with foreign partners with the aim of widely supplying Covid-19 vaccine.
Responding to the program “Million Hearts as one – Vaccine overcome Covid-19” of Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) through the “One Heart” Fund calls for the support of organizations and enterprises, individuals contribute funds to buy vaccines, make a practical contribution to the whole society to overcome the pandemic, the Company Trade Union called whole leaders and workers to support and contribute to the program. After two weeks mobilized and collected, on March 30, 2021, the representatives of leaders and the Trade Union of the company donated 200 million VND to HTV Television as a bridge to join hands with the whole country to prevent pandemic. HTV Television has a gratitude letter to the Company as well as has a short interview with Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan – Chairman of the Company’s Trade Union about the donation of leaders and employees of the company for the program. The interview and donation program is broadcast on HTV Television. Although the amount of donation is not too big, it is high appreciated and shows shared hearts and a sense of responsibility for the community of the company’s labors with wish all people to be vaccinated and to fight back Covid-19 epidemic.
