THANH CONG GRANTS POOR BUT STUDIOUS PUPILS IN TAN PHU DISTRICT 100 MILLIONS VND
On September 29th, 2010, in the Great Hall of Tan Phu People’s Committee, Mr. Lee Eun Hong, General Director of Thanh Cong Textile Garment – Investment – Trading JS Company, granted VND 100 millions to “Fund of the poor in Tan Phu district” which was used to grant scholarships to poor but studious pupils in the district.
Mr. Tran Tan Hung, Chairman of Tan Phu’s Fatherland Front cum Party member of the district, represented authorities of Tan Phu District to receive the sponsorship and gave thanks to Thanh Cong Group for their support to the poor in the district.
Mr. Lee Eun Hong gave his speech: “Thanh Cong Group has established Charity Fund this year according to E-Land Group’s request, which is holding over 40% shares of Thanh Cong, being a major shareholder of Thanh Cong. E-Land gave their 10% dividend of 2010 and asked Thanh Cong to use the amount as a charity fund to help the poor and the disabled. On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival and new school year, Thanh Cong decides to grant VND 100 million scholarship from the Charity Fund in order to help poor but studious pupils in Tan Phu district, to share difficulties with them and to help them have more belief to study well and become useful citizens in the future”.
In the ceremony, 71 poor pupils in Tan Phu district from elementary to university, were awarded scholarships sponsored by Thanh Cong Group, among which 34 scholarships were in cash and 37 scholarships are means of transportation – bicycles.
When small but confident feet came to the stage, a moving feeling expanded among participants in the ceremony. Board of Managers of Thanh Cong and Tan Phu District awarded scholarships and encourage the children one by one. Our General Director sincerely shook hands of little pupils in a big round of applause. Seeing their sparkling and full-of-belief eyes, we totally believed in the new young generation who would overcome all difficulties to have good result at studying and become good citizens.
Located in Tan Phu District, beside performing our duty and creating careers for the community, Thanh Cong Group sees that we have the responsibility in contributing to the development of the District generally and the poor people in the District particularly. That’s why over many years, with the support and cooperation of the District’s Board of Managers, Thanh Cong Group has joined some charity and social events of the District. In the future, Thanh Cong will continue to support Tan Phu district in the Poverty-Alleviation Movement.
The ceremony ended with a happy feeling of pupils who were granted Thanh Cong scholarships. Mr Tran Tuan Hung said in an emotional feeling: “Hope that Thanh Cong would continue to go along with Tan Phu District in taking care of life of the poor”.
