On the evening of January 21, the award ceremony “Golden Brand Ho Chi Minh City” in 2020 was organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Saigon Economic Times under the direction of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the award ceremony has Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of People’s Committee – Nguyen Thanh Phong; Vice Chairman of City People’s Committee – Vo Van Hoan; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee – Ngo Thanh Son; the representatives of departments of the city and the business community.

The award is to honor the enterprises with excellent results in building and developing brands of products and services. The award is judged on 10 criteria including legal compliance; performance efficiency; business ethic; social activities; human resources and personnel policy; research and development – innovative solutions; generation transfer vision; brand promotion; brand coverage and management system; quality and safety; results of consumers’ votes. Products of Ho Chi Minh City Gold Brand must achieve an overall score of 70% of the total score of the evaluated Council and voted result by consumers.

As a result, the voting Council agreed to choose 30 enterprises that won the “Ho Chi Minh City Gold Brand” award, including most of them are leading enterprises or at the top in their production and business. According to the organizers, the total revenue in 2019 of these 30 enterprises reached 252,792 billion VND, equivalent to 21.8% of the total revenue of retail sales of consumer goods and services in 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City; total profit after tax reached 32,670 billion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said this was the first time Ho Chi Minh City held this award to honor and motivate enterprises to actively innovate and develop sustainable product branding, contributing to improve the competitive advantages of the city product brands in domestic and international markets.

The Ho Chi Minh City Gold Brand Award with three core goals is to become a “guarantee” award for the reputation of enterprises in the domestic and international markets. The award is a premise for a strong investment in the future, building pride for the people of Ho Chi Minh City about products and services of their locality. The award also elevates the status of the country’s largest economic center.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong – Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee: “The city is committed to accompanying and supporting more for the promotion and development of brand products of enterprises. The city will build a practical support plan for the award winning enterprises”.

Through the above evaluation criteria, Thanh Cong Textile and Garment Company is honored to be one of the enterprises representing for the textile garment industry in HCM City to receive the award “Golden Brand of Ho Chi Minh City 2020”.

Mr. Tran Nhu Tung – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors/Deputy General Director representing the company’s leaders attended the ceremony and received the award from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. At the ceremony, Saigon Economic Times had an interview with Mr. Tung about the strategy of building and developing brand of the Company. Also according to Mr. Tung, the award “Ho Chi Minh City Gold Brand” is a great encouragement and a driving force for the enterprises in the process of branding construction, sustainable development, especially after a difficult 2020 year of COVID-19.
